Super Mal - Blood and Sun

Here's an awesome track from French house producer's Super Mal. In my eyes they have successfully succeeded in creating a track both extremely happy and evil at the same time. Half of the synth leads make you feel like you're in the movie "Halloween" while the other half make you feel like you're sitting in the sun.

John Marytn - 1984 (Summer of Lovefingers Mix)

I absolutely love this Summer of Lovefingers mix of John Martyn's "1984." It starts off with this wailing guitar you would expect to hear from the 1960's then quickly morphs into a fantastic nu-disco track that doesn't stop for 6 minutes. This sounds like something you would expect to hear on an Aeroplane mix. If that description interests you, don't miss it.

Keeping up the happy summertime vibe here at The Fresh Mode, check out this wonderful track by Washed Out. Very dreamy with a synth pop feel and extremely soothing vocals, it's the kind of track you might hear playing in your head as you stumble out of a club at 5am as the sun starts to rise. At only 3:11 in length, you'll absolutely wish it was 3 minutes longer. Enjoy.

Do you like space disco? Of course you do.

"Theomatic celebrates its 10th release with An-2's epic 'Viajero'. Spanish for 'voyager', 'Viajero' is a dedication to all travellers and the spirit of travel. It's about the fact that every traveller searching for better place on Earth every time ends up with the same - meets himself. The track is a result of a long work, waves that you hear in the background is Pacific Ocean recorded at Machalilla National Park in Ecuador while guitar was recorded in Izhevsk, Russia - An-2's hometown, it's performed by Ramil Vafin, keen guitarist, guitar maker and big friend of An-2 (by the way nearly all guitars and basses that you hear in An-2 tracks are made by him), finally it all found it's way together in An-2's St.Petersburg studio. The remix comes courtesy of the ever excellent duo Acos Coolkas."

Both versions are fantastic, with the remix having much more house feel. Enjoy.

Simian Mobile Disco - Temporary Pleasure

One of the firsts postings of on this blog back in February was Simian Mobile Disco's radio edit of "10,000 Horses Can't Be Wrong," a track I loved and that only made me extremely anxious to hear the album that it eventually was going to come off of. Thankfully, the wait is over and we've been graced with Simian's Temporary Pleasure. Don't be fooled by the name, the pleasure will be anything but temporary when listening to this disc from beginning to end. really solid all the way through. All but two of the tracks include vocals from the likes of Yeasayer's Chris Keating, Hot Chip's Alexis Taylor, Jamie Lidell, Gossip's Beth Ditto and Super Furry Animals' Gruff Rhys. Don't miss this one.

For those of you who don't know about Eelke Kleijn, here's a little introduction. A master of progressive/tech/deep house, almost everything he touches turns to gold, and this track is no different. 'Nevertheless' is an incredible journey that will have you dancing before the first drop even hits. For those of you who enjoy this track, I'd highly recomend subscribing to Eelke's podcast "Outside the Box". You can find it on iTunes and it's chock full of free amazing mixes in the same style. Talk about an awesome track! Tennishero's "Alone" is an extremely wonderful downtempo journey that is bound to leave you wishing the song was 3 times as long. Hopefully you all are familiar with The Chemical Brothers' brand of hard hitting electronic music, but for those that arent, and those that need a reminder, here's a high def pro shot of "Star Guitar" from the Glastonbury festival in 2007. I've never had the chance to check them out, but judging by the spectacle being put on in this video, I certainly won't miss the opportunity.
