The Units - High Pressure Days (Rory Phillips Remix)

Continuing my string of posts ripped from the various Aeroplane sets I saw over last week, here is Rory Phillips remix of The Units' High Pressure Days. At the time I was so sure this was some sort of Talking Heads remix and spent days scouring the web for it but couldn't find anything. A friend was able to ID the track this morning and even the rainy weather in NY couldn't bring me down at the moment. This is a perfect blend of 1980's synth punk with a modern day dance reworking to smooth out the edges and make this track quite the burner.

Classixx ft. Jeppe - I'll Get You

An extremely catchy tune from Classixx, a bit hard to classify, kind of like poppy disco/electro, with probably the most catchy lyrics on a track I've heard in a while. Aeroplane spun this on friday at Insiders and had the place going nuts.

"Do you like bass?" Well, I know I do.

Aeroplane at Insiders 2009

Aeroplane spins A-Trak's remix of Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Heads will Roll, posted earlier this week. I've been playing the shit out of that track, so seeing my favorite DJs drop it last night at Iriving Plaza was absolutely awesome. Great little run by Aeroplane here in NYC, hopefully they come back soon.

Shit Robot - Work It Out (Todd Terje Remix)

Todd Terje is a man who knows house/disco music. His remix of Shit Robot's Work it Out is really vastly better then the original and is just a great 10 minute journey of soulful piano with hypnotic drum beats. Enjoy

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Heads Will Roll (A-Trak Remix)

Here's a little banger to get your week started, A-Trak doing his thing on Yeah Yeah Yeahs "Heads Will Roll." He takes a great song and gives it his patented re-working and turns this into quite the little club anthem.

"Off off with your head, dance dance till your dead" If that's not a song welcoming Halloween in the coming weeks, I'm not sure what is. Enjoy.

Monarchy - Gold in the Fire

A wonderful track from a new duo based out of London, England. Mostly an electro pop sound, with fantistic vocoder use. Looking forward to see what these guys come up with in the future. Check it out.

Florence and the Machine - You Got The Love (The XX Remix)

Check out this amazingly soothing track from Florence and the Machine reworked by the XX. Definitey a track for that morning commute play list.

Keenhouse - Ari-es

Well everyone, sorry for the extreme lack of updates the last two weeks. I've been having some extremely busy days at work and was in London all of last week for business as well. So without further ado, here's a great track from Keenhouse titled "Ari-es." Some wonderfully light vocals over some synthpop make this a great dreamwave track.

Phoenix - Love Like a Sunset (Animal Collective Remix - Deakin's Jam)

Anyone who is an Animal Collective fan should check out this remix of Phoenix's "Love Like a Sunset." Check out these words from AC on Phoenix's Blog:

"“This spring i was in Panama with Brian. We were cramped into a van on a bumpy, winding Central American road going a little too fast. Feeling a little edgy, I put on my headphones and listened to United and Alphabetical back to back. I watched passing fruit stands, a sweet central american dusk and memories of the massive schools of jelly fish, snapper, and trevally; the few dolphin and even the few bluefin tuna (too few) that Brian and i had just had the joy of diving with. The blend of all of these things put me at ease. Phoenix has been a staple for all four of us since Dave and Noah brought home United from the record store they used to work at. One of the records that would get us through some of those long cross country tour drives, we’ve listened to Phoenix’s jams many many times. We were all totally psyched to get asked to do this and it was super fun to work on it. All the best to those dudes.”"
